LOVE@Nite Unites Detroit and the Diaspora in a Night of Music, Art, and Cultural Fusion

Wyclef Jean at LOVE@Nite: CONTAINER Takeover X Global Citizen Now

Detroit's vibrant cultural tapestry took center stage at Love@Nite: CONTAINER Takeover, the official afterglow of the Global Citizen NOW: Detroit festival, held July 10 at Spirit Plaza. The night brought together music, fashion, food, and storytelling to celebrate the city's dynamic immigrant and African diasporic communities.

Headlined by music legend Wyclef Jean and the Haitian arts collective Ayiti Spaghetti, the event highlighted the deep cultural ties between Haitian, African American, Middle Eastern, Mexican, and Latinx communities in Detroit. From soul food and cumbia DJ sets to tree bark-dyed fashion and storytelling cuisine, every element honored the spirit of shared resilience and creativity.

With leaders like Kwaku Osei of The Love Building and chef Jermond Booze of Detroit Food Academy, Love@Nite has evolved into more than just a festival—it’s a living archive of cultural pride and unity.
